Listen to it instead while doing something else (e.g. cooking, traveling or drawing): it takes away the pressure of having to concentrate. If you miss stuff the first time, listen to it again! Listening WHILE reading the book is also a great idea, as it will help you to absorb the content better.

Reading a book online isn't ideal -- distraction can easily happen, since you're on a computer close to distractive websites. If the book is a pdf, cut off your internet conection, which will force you to not browse.

What if the book is fiction and more boring than a snail walking?

Do fun things while reading. For example: get comfy and have natural sunlight coming in. Eat something sweet to brighten the way you read. Get plenty of cool air and relax. Also, question why you're bored as you read, as this can help you to critique the book. For example: What was the author thinking? Is the author a sloppy writer? Is the plot weak? Are the characters total pains? Is the story ineffective? Are the things you're being asked to believe unrealistic? And so on. Picking the book to pieces as you read it can make it a lot more entertaining to read.

Check out how many chapters the book has, and then decide how many chapters you will read each day. Let's say that the book has 45 chapters, try to read five each day. Sometimes you can read an extra chapter and you will finish the book faster. Take the book with you, so you can read, when you have time for it.
