QuestionIn which gear should I climb a hill area?CrayFish715Community AnswerDepends on the bike. Really, you can use any gear so long as you keep mid-range revs at a comfortable speed. Don't let it stall.

QuestionWhich of the hands should hold the motorbike more firmly when starting to move? I sometimes over rev the motorbike when attempting to move.Community AnswerBoth hands should hold the motorcycle. To move off one-handed would make the bike unstable.

QuestionHow do I start a bike that's been put away for winter for several months?Jeff HornsbyCommunity AnswerHopefully you drained the gas before storing it. If you did, fresh gas and priming the carb should be sufficient (you may not have to prime the carb, but if it's hard starting, try starter fluid). If you did not and the gas is still there, then you have some work to do. First, see if it starts; if it does, you're lucky. If it doesn't, then chances are the gas has gummed up and it's time for some cleaning. Start by emptying the gas tank and carb. From here you can either clean it, rebuild it or replace it.

QuestionWhen I start the bike by leaving the clutch in, is it necessary to accelerate?ARS_AKHILCommunity AnswerAccelerating might be helpful, as it will get the engine running efficiently once there's a spark for the engine to start. It will also increase the fuel supply, which will enhance the conditions for starting. (You don't need to keep the accelerating before releasing clutch; once the clutch is released and there's sign of fusion in the engine, apply accelerator.)

QuestionHow do I stop the engine from turning off while the motorcycle is in neutral?Community AnswerWhen the engine is cold, choke the engine and let it idle for about 5 minutes or until the engine is warm and then take the choke off.

QuestionIs it safe to the engine to start a motorcycle while on the first gear and holding the clutch at the same time?Tyler HarlanCommunity AnswerAs long as you make sure you're holding the clutch in firmly, yes. The clutch disengages the engine from the transmission, meaning that there is no load on the engine when you try and start it. It is safe as long as you have the clutch held in.
