  • Question
How do I study without being distracted?
    Community Answer
I have had the same problem earlier. Just make sure that the place you study is comfortable, and not in front of distractions (e.g., TV, computer, phone, etc.). Switch off your mobile, turn off the TV and block out all the things you find distracting. If you need your phone or computer for studying, you can use several apps and websites which allows you to block certain apps such as YouTube, Instagram and other distractions.
  • Question
How do I get the information I study to stick in my head?
    Aqsa Azam
    Community Answer
There are various techniques you can try: 1. Write the information down again and again. 2. Make small bullet points that you can revise throughout the day. 3. Use flashcards. 4. Record yourself reading out your notes and listen to the recordings frequently. 5. Chew a flavored bubble gum while studying and when you're being tested, chew that same bubble gum again, if allowed. It will trigger your brain to remember the information you were studying before the test/exam. 6. Spray some perfume on your notes and on the day of the test/exam, spray that perfume on your clothes. It will trigger your brain to remember the perfume on your notes and help you remember that information easily.

  • Question
How many hours a day can you effectively study?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
Ideally, up to 2 hours a day is the most effective. Any longer than that, and you're less likely to actually retain the information. That's why cramming is such a bad idea. You won't really be able to absorb all of the information if you spend all night studying it. Instead, your best bet is to block out about 1-2 hours a day to review and study your class notes and material. Find a time when you feel the most energetic and motivated to study so you’re able to focus a little better. Avoid studying in a room with other loud people or distractions since it’ll be tough to focus and remember the material. Instead, go into your room and shut the door, or find a quiet spot at the school library where you can sit and focus on the task at hand.
  • Question
What is the best time to study?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
That really depends on your daily schedule and your personality. Everyone is different, and some people prefer to study at different times. Try to find a time where you feel the most energetic and willing to review your notes and class material. You may find that you like taking an hour or so right after you get home from school to help reinforce everything you went over in class. You might also like taking some quiet time to yourself in the evening so you can focus more easily. Whatever time works best for you, set it in your schedule or calendar and try to make it a habit. The more you do it, the easier it'll be to stick to.
  • Question
What is the best study method?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
One of the best ways to study is to break your sessions down into 1-hour blocks rather than studying for hours on end. Schedule a time for you to study every day and find a study spot that's quiet and that you feel comfortable studying in. Set aside an hour for each of your subjects so you have time to review them thoroughly. During each block, only focus on 1 subject at a time so you don’t get information mixed up between classes. Breaking up your sessions also helps you retain the information more effectively and can help prevent you from feeling burnt out on studying. For larger projects or assignments, try breaking them up into smaller steps that you can knock out in an hour. Work at them every day until they're finished and try to avoid putting things off until the last minute.

  • Question
    Can I study with music?
    Andrew Mikovski
    Community Answer
Studying with music can be effective for some people. It depends on your personal preference and the type of task you're working on. If you find music helps you focus and doesn't distract you, go for instrumental or ambient tunes. However, for complex tasks or deep concentration, silence might be better. Experiment and find what works best for your productivity and concentration levels.
