  • Question
What if I know everything in the books but forget it during an exam?
    Community Answer
You may be nervous and need to calm down and clear your head. Inhale and exhale deeply; close your eyes and focus. Drink some water if you can. Keep inhaling and exhaling deeply and thinking with your eyes closed until you come up with the answer.
  • Question
Why is understanding better than memorizing something?
    Community Answer
Because understanding is a deeper brain process and it sticks with you more. Once you understand something, you understand it for good. Pure memorization just doesn't make things stick as well in your mind. Understanding is true learning, and is the real goal and reward of education.
  • Question
What can I do if I have trouble when I have to explain things, even though I understand my classes when they are happening?
    Community Answer
After your class, go home and write down the keywords you learned in class. Then try to connect the keywords to make a sensible sentence. Also, try teaching it to your pet or siblings. If you can't explain something in your own words, that means you don't understand the topic fully yet.
  • Question
I'm only 10, but I'm really interested in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Am I too young to be learning this, or should I learn Science at a young age?

    Community Answer
No one is too young to be interested in or learning a topic that they like. As long as it is educational for the person, that person can benefit from it at any age.
  • Question
If I use big words in the exam, will I get a better score?
    Community Answer
No, unless you're talking about the scientific words and terms you're expected to know for the exam. Just having a large vocabulary isn't going to help your score on a science exam.
  • Question
What marks do I need to become a scientist?
    Community Answer
It is not about the marks, however it would be good if you could get an A on science. If you really want to be a scientist, decide on what expertise you want. Focus on that, but as a student(not including university students), you should just focus on all your subjects. Even if you do really well and even get an A*, it doesn't mean you are a scientist.
  • Question
How do I be good at science when I can't remember the formulas?
    Community Answer
Actually, you don't really need to memorize the formulae by heart trying as hard as you can. Just a simple trick. Note down those formulae that you need to know. Just try to do some sample questions which you can find on the internet) every day, which are related to those formulas. Here, you can do a cheat game. Just note down the required formula for that question and solve it. Give yourself simple questions. As you keep using those formulas more and more in those sample questions, you don't need to remember them. They just come to you in your way and you start remembering them with ease. Also, the practice doing the questions will make tests and exams a whole lot easier.
