  • Question
Is it safe to eat the Jell-O with the object inside?
    Stephen Leccese
    Community Answer
Yes as long as you wash the object and use something that doesn't have any small pieces. Use something large that no one can swallow accidentally. Check it for any small pieces and remove them.
  • Question
How easily will the jello release from the bowl?!? I don't want to spend all that time only to have it break when I'm trying to get it out at the end.

    Community Answer
Sticking isn't too common, but if you want to prevent it then spray the bowl with a very thin layer of cooking spray before mixing the Jello. If the Jello is stuck when you're trying to remove it, run a knife under warm water and gently work it around the Jello to loosen it up.
  • Question
How do you put stuff in jello?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
Putting something inside of jello is actually pretty easy to do. First, mix the jello according to the directions on the packaging. Wash off the item you want to place in the jello if you plan to eat it. Then place it on top of the jello. Make another batch of jello and pour that on top, let it set in the refrigerator, and you're done!
  • Question
Does putting a stapler in Jello ruin it?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
It depends on what condition the stapler was in when you put it into the jello and how long you leave it in there. If the stapler was already a little rusty, the jello could cause it to get jammed and sticky. But if you remove the stapler within a day or so after you put it in the jello and wash it off really well, it should still work just fine.
  • Question
    What is Jello made of?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
The main ingredient in jello is gelatin, a protein that's extracted from the skin and bones of specific animals. Jello comes in a container as powdered gelatin, so when you dissolve it in boiling water and cool it to let it set, it turns into the gelatinous, semi-solid dessert that you know and love.
  • Question
I'd like for the person who receives it to be able to keep it in the mold as a decoration. Is there something I can use instead of Jell-O?
    Community Answer
You could probably use some kind of epoxy resin! It's a little more expensive and complicated process than Jello, but it lasts functionally forever. A company that deals primarily with epoxy resin, of good quality, if a little pricey: Ultra Clear Epoxy. This would work to good effect.
