QuestionFor some reason my anvil won't let me do the enchantment. Any way to fix?VortrexionTop AnswererIf your anvil will not allow you to add your enchantments to your piece of gear, there are two possible problems. The first is that your enchantment is incompatible with your piece of gear; I am unable to add Sharpness V to an Iron Chestplate, likewise I am unable to add Protection IV to a Diamond Sword. This can simply be fixed by using the correct piece of gear to match the enchantment. The other possible problem is your cost to add the enchantment is too expensive. This is a result from combining too many different enchantments onto your piece of armor, making it impossible to add any more enchantments or fix your gear. Once done, this is impossible to reverse without a grindstone.

QuestionWhat do I do if I have an enchantment book with blast protection 2 and power 5? If I use it in a chestplate, the power 5 gets wasted and vice versa. I'm confused. How do I get both enchantments saved?VortrexionTop AnswererYou cannot get both enchantments saved. Some enchantments are only compatible with certain items. It's up to you to make the decision of what you think is more valuable. In your case, Power V is much better, as it is much more difficult to obtain than Blast Protection II. Therefore, you would use an anvil to combine the bow with the book and get a Power V bow.
-
QuestionDoes it have to be diamond?VortrexionTop AnswererEnchanted books can be applied to any type of gear. This could be leather, gold, chainmail, iron, diamond, or netherite. However, you almost always want to put the enchantment on your best possible gear, as to not waste the book.
-
QuestionWhy is it not letting me enchant my netherite armour with blast protection or fire protection? Does it have anything to do with the fact that I enchanted them in an Enchanting table first?Seasalt25Top AnswererIf your armor is already enchanted with a different protection enchantment, like projectile protection or protection, then you cannot enchant it with any other type of protection. Each piece of armor can only have 1 type of protection enchantment on it. This is probably why you cannot add blast or fire protection.
-
QuestionHow do you get obsidian?Seasalt25Top AnswererYou can get obsidian in a few ways. You can pour water onto lava and then break the resulting obsidian with a diamond or netherite pickaxe. You can also find it naturally in woodland mansions, ruined portals, bastions, nether fortresses, and villages. When you enter the End dimension, you will spawn on top of an obsidian platform which can be mined for obsidian. If you build a nether portal in the nether or overworld, another portal will spawn on the other side which you can mine. There is also a chance to get obsidian from trading with piglins.
