  • Question
I highlighted someone's hair, and after the process finished the hair was very orange. Could I tone it down with Wella 8.1 and after that Kolestone 10.16?
    Community Answer
Yes, I did the same, and It worked wonders! That seems to be the best approach; I would also suggest giving the hair a very thorough washing.
  • Question
My stylist toned my hair after it was blonde. It turned a dark brown/gray color after I washed it out. Will it go back to blonde?
    Community Answer
If your hair is not naturally blonde, it will not turn blonde again unless you bleach it. if you decide to bleach it, you should wait until the new color fades, or you can ruin your hair.
  • Question
I have level 10 blond. My hair stylist gave me multidimensional shades. After it was done, my hair turned a dark gray. How do I correct it at home?
    Community Answer
I've found that if you hair turns out that gray color, then you can try doing an egg wash.

I have decided to let my gray hair grow out. I used color fix to remove color I have previously used trying to eliminate the outgrowth, but now I have yellowing. How do I fix this without readying?

If your hair is lighter in shade, there is a purple shampoo you can use. It doesn't dye your hair purple, it just removes the yellow. It is used mostly for blondes to get rid of the yellow hue, but it would most likely work here as well.
  • Question
I had a dark hair and I dyed it a few weeks ago without using bleaching and the color turned orange. Can I tone it down with Wella Toner T18?
    Sportacus from Lazytown
    Community Answer
I would recommend against toning whilst your hair is still orange, especially when dealing with the Wella T18 toners, as it is recommended to use on very light hair, maybe around a level 9 or 10. If your hair is still orange I would re bleach with a 20.Vol developer until your hair reaches a light yellow and then use a toner of your choice, even Wella T18.
  • Question
Can I use the toner without a developer if I bleached my hair few weeks ago?
    Sportacus from Lazytown
    Community Answer
A developer is needed when toning with the Wella toners, usually a 20 vol. You can look into other toners that are compatible to be used with a 10 vol, which are deposit only, if you aren't concerned with lightening your hair further.
  • Question
I bleached my hair platinum blonde with a very good brand bleach, but left it on too long and lots of hair broke off. It's a rookie mistake. How long must I wait before toning my hair?
    Sportacus from Lazytown
    Community Answer
To be quite frank, it doesn't matter. The damage has already been done. I would recommend Olaplex to renourish your hair as best as you can, and then cut your hair as short as need be to avoid further damage. Then tone with a toner of your choice!
  • Question
I use volume products for my fine, thin, shoulder length hair. After color, condition, dry, putting heat spray and shine spray on each separate curl, and hair spray after done. Is that too much product?
    Anjola
    Community Answer
That is too much product. Stick to one routine so, when there is a problem with your hair, you would what is causing it.
  • Question
I have waist length locs that I want to use the 5RV Wella color Tango on. Should I be using the whole 2 ounces and how much Wella developer should I use?
    Sara Bollig
    Community Answer
The mixture proportions are on the bottles, you should follow those exactly. Tango line uses a 1:1 ratio- meaning equal parts of color to developer. So 2 oz color means 2 oz developer. For Charm creams (also permanent hair color) the ratio is 1 part color to 2 parts developer. So it is important to read the packaging carefully.
  • Question
I bleached my hair, no orange, but it was too gold. I applied purple shampoo, for 30-45 minutes. It helped. I want to get my color more to a soft blondish, brown. What toner do you suggest?
    Sara Bollig
    Community Answer
You need to tone it with a semi permanent hair color. To remove the gold hue and have a soft blondish brown, you are best sticking with a purple undertone. Anything with a V If you are a level 8, go with an 8V.
