    Expert Answer
You should stick with gentle, non-irritating ingredients and remember to introduce new products slowly. You don’t need to rely on fruit-based treatments since there are plenty of other options that can help improve your skin without triggering your allergies. Start with something mild, like lactic acid. This is a great gentle exfoliant that hydrates your skin while smoothening it at the same time, making it a good fit for people with sensitive skin. Use it slowly maybe for 2 to 3 times a week and see how your skin reacts. Another option is exploring Korean skincare products with LPC (lysophosphatidylcholine). Where the focus is repairing and soothing the skin without being too harsh.
  • Question
What if I don't put sunscreen and use lemon directly on my face?
    Waffels14
    Community Answer
The acids in the lemon would dry out the skin and cause peeling. You probably don't want to do that, unless you are okay with peeling skin.

Could I rub an orange directly on my face?
    Waffels14

You could, but it would be better to squeeze an orange out first and then apply it.
  • Question
Can I continue to use citrus fruits after using them to lighten my face and body?
    Waffels14
    Community Answer
I guess it really depends on what you are using them for. Using them more than once to lighten your skin is fine. I do not suggest eating them after you have put them on your face, though.
  • Question
How can I keep my skin from turning brown?
    Community Answer
When you go outside or go shopping, put on sunscreen. Remember to re-apply if you'll be outside for an extended period of time, or if you get wet.
  • Question
Can I rub lemon directly on my face and can I leave it on overnight?
    Community Answer
I wouldn't recommend leaving lemon on overnight as it can irritate the skin, just leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse it off with water, then apply moisturizer.
  • Question
How long should I leave citrus on my skin?
    Waffels14
    Community Answer
About 10 minutes. Citrus fruits tend to dry out your skin quickly. 15 minutes would be too long.
  • Question
How can I use licorice powder for face brightening?
    Community Answer
Either mix it with tomato paste if you have oily skin, or mix it with milk or yogurt if you have dry skin, and leave it for 40 minutes. Then wash it off. Do this 2 to 3 times a day continuously until you get your desired results.

Consult with a dermatologist on this matter.
  • Question
What should I do with the fruit after whitening my skin with it?

Since it has been in contact with skin, it is best to throw it away or use it as a plant fertilizer. There are bacteria in our skin, so be sure not to consume it!
  • Question
Can I use banana on my skin to get it glow?

Bananas contain good amounts of vitamin C that helps in maintaining the natural and youthful glow of the skin. It helps you get rid of dullness and reduces spots and blemishes. Here are some other fruits/food that make your skin glow: blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries and sweet potatoes.
