Windows 10 Home Edition

  1. If you’re using the Home edition of Windows 10, this method will help you disable Cortana. This opens the ″Run″ dialog box.
    • If you’re not sure which version of Windows 10 you’re using, open the Start menu, click Settings (or the gear icon), click System , and then click About at the bottom of the left column. The version appears under ″Windows specifications″ at the bottom of the right panel.

  4. To do this, start by expanding HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the left panel, then expand the SOFTWARE folder, then Policies , then Microsoft , and finally Windows . The registry keys in the ″Windows″ folder now appear in the right panel.

  1. If you’re using the Home edition of Windows 10, this method will help you disable Cortana. This opens the ″Run″ dialog box.
