Nintendo AR Games is a game on the Nintendo 3DS with multiple activities to try while pointing to your AR card. One feature the game has is a globe option. It is quick and simple to use. To find out how, continue reading.

Steps

  1. 1
Open AR Games. This should be a pre-installed option on your home menu. It will be a square with a black background and a white question mark inside of a golden hexagon, replicating the card. It will say "AR GAMES" on the top screen, with the words "Augmented Reality" below. Either double tap the icon or tap it once and then tap Open or A .
    • If you have just been playing another game, it will ask you if you wish to close the other app, stating that any unsaved data will be lost. If needed, save your previous game before starting AR Games.
  2. 2
Point your system at the AR card in a well-lit area, approximately 35 centimetres (14 in) away. Once it recognises the card, it will ask you to shoot a singular yellow box on screen by pressing A with your device aimed at the front of it. Once you've done that, shoot the small purple box (also known as the dark flip AR block) on the bottom right in the same way. This will give you more options.
    • Your device should come with an AR card, it will have a "?" on it. If you don't have one, you can use someone else's as they are all the same.
    • The dark flip AR block will not be available from the start. In order to get it, you must beat AR Shot for the first time, which will unlock the AR fishing game. Once you beat the fishing game at least once, you will have the option of the block. [1]

  3. 3
Shoot the globe option, which will be the purple box on the back middle. It will be easy to identify because a globe appears with the word "Globe" above it.
    • In order to get the globe, you will have to buy it from the shop (the blue option in the corner) for one play coin (not real money). You get a play coin for every 100 steps you take with your 3DS on sleep, with a maximum of ten play coins daily.
  4. 4
Press A while aiming at the globe to move it. This will cause the globe to spin and for you to see different parts of the globe.
    • Hitting the globe excessively will cause it to get red and hot, before exploding. If this happens, a message will appear telling you to "Look after our planet", and you will have to buy the globe again from the shop. [2]
  5. 5
Use the X button to change the size of the globe. The globe has three sizes: small, medium and large. The globe will start medium-sized, but if you press X , it will go to large, then if you press it again it will go to small. You can do this as much as you want.
  6. 6
Point your 3DS at the pin to see the country you are in. There will be a pin on the map on your country. If you aim your device at it, your country's name will appear. You may need to shoot at the globe to move the angle so you can see it.
    • If it is incorrect, you can always change your country in System Settings.
    • Some countries such as the UK may be split into further regions within the country. If this is the case, it will show on the map.
  7. 7
Take photos. You can use the L or R buttons on the side of your device to capture a photo. Once you do, you can press A to save it to your photos, or B if you don't want to save it.
    • Be aware that regardless of what volume your 3DS is on, the device will always make a clicker sound as it takes a photo. This sound will also override headphones.
    • You may wish to pick up the AR card to make it look like you are holding the world.

      Tips

      • This will only work if your AR card is visible to the device. Ensure that you hold your 3DS relatively still, keep the room well-lit, and keep it at an appropriate distance.
      • The AR card is the card with the question mark on it, not the character cards, though they do have a purpose for other things.
