“Hey Alyssa, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much did you like the new Avengers movie?” Ugh, 2. “What?!” I don’t like superhero movies! They’re all the same. “Wow. I need a few minutes to process this. You’re so wrong that it’s scaring me.” Oh come on. You can’t tell me they’re all so unique and interesting and different from each other… “Well, I could, actually, but first I need to know where this extremely wrong opinion is coming from.” I’ve just never liked superheroes! They’re always just some guys throwing punches and flying around, and they always win in the end, so where exactly is the suspense in that? So boring. “First of all, you should know that they’re not all ‘just some guys,” there are plenty of women superheroes. Wonder Woman? She’s pretty cool. But second, you don’t like happy endings? What movies do you watch that don’t have happy endings??” Actually, I really like scary movies. “Really? Wow, OK… but wait. Aren’t those pretty much all the same too?” Not at all! Every single horror movie is so different. Have you ever even seen any?? “I mean, maybe a couple…” Like which ones? “Um...Paranormal Activity? And Cloverfield… That’s it? “Why watch scary movies when you could watch superhero movies?!” Hahaha, oh my gosh. I think we need to agree to disagree before this gets any uglier. “OK, OK, well if you weren’t at the theater watching the movie of the year...what did you do this weekend?” Not much, honestly. If there had been any actually decent movies out, I probably would’ve gone to one of those! Hahaha, just kidding. No, but I pretty much did homework and just slept, like a lot. “Yeah, OK, what was up with all the teachers giving us 10 pounds of homework this weekend? We have exams coming up, shouldn’t we just be studying?” I know! It makes no sense at all. “I was working a ton this weekend too. And definitely did not catch up on as much sleep as I should have…” See? Sleep should take priority over bad superhero movies! “You’re so wrong, it’s ridiculous! Another time when we’re not almost going to be late for class, I’m gonna prove to you why they’re so awesome. You’ll see!” Hahaha, good luck with that….
