Spaghetti with Meat Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
* 1 pound ground beef
* 1 pound spaghetti
* 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
* 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
* 1/2 cup chopped onion
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* 1 teaspoon dried basil
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions:
Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the onion is translucent.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer the sauce for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened and the flavors have melded together.
Serve the spaghetti with the meat sauce spooned over the top. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Note: You can use ground turkey or pork instead of ground beef, or omit the meat entirely for a vegetarian version. You can also add other vegetables to the sauce, such as chopped bell peppers or mushrooms, depending on your preference.
