Character Synopsis: Bennie is a young white rabbit who gets separated from his parents after a fun day playing and picking carrots in the field. Though he knows he should stay in one place in situations like these, he notices a commotion in the woods across from the field and decides to go check things out.
In the woods, Bennie meets a fox (Floxy), a deer (Chompy), and a crow (Squawky). They’re very nice and inviting and playing a game of hide-and-seek. Bennie decides it would be okay to play just one game. That then turns into a footrace, then swimming. By the time he’s done having fun, it’s dark outside.
Bennie gets scared and asks his new friends for help. They’re unwilling, though, and decide to go off and have fun without him. His adventures with his so-called “friends” have taken him deeper into the woods than he’s ever been. He wanders around looking for the field and crying for his parents.
Finally, Bennie meets an owl (Owlie) who has just so happened to see Bennie’s parents in the field looking for him. Owlie is nice enough to offer him a ride. Bennie hops on his back, and within minutes he is back with his parents. They scold him, but he knows he deserves it. Just like them, he’s happy to be back together with his family.
