Think about questions you might be asked and how you could answer them.
When you know the answer:
* “I didn’t have time to mention that in my presentation, but that’s a really interesting subject too…”
* “Thanks for bringing that up. That was an issue I saw too…”
* “That’s a great question. In my opinion…”
When you don’t know the answer:
* “That’s a great question. I’ll look into that and get back to you.”
* “I didn’t look into that too much for this particular presentation. But based on what I’ve studied for this, I’d say…”
* “I don’t want to just guess on that, because I don’t want to give you wrong information. But that’s a great question. We should definitely pursue that further.”
Ask if you can practice in front of other people.
“You heard I have that speech coming up for the opening of the new store, right? Do you mind if I practice in front of you?”
“I wrote a rough draft of my best man speech. Can I practice giving it in front of you?”
Ask for feedback on your content and delivery.
“I know it’s not quite there yet, but what did you think?”
“What do you think I should work on? Be honest. It’ll really help me.”
