Revolve the rope over your head and under your feet as you hop around your space from side to side and back and forth. Stay on your toes as you jump. Cross Step Start by holding the jump rope behind your back with an end in each hand. Your hands should be a few inches from the sides of your thighs. As you whip it over your head jump a few inches into the air as you cross one foot over the other. Sweep the rope under your feet. Land softly with your feet still crossed. Whip the rope over your head again and, as you jump, uncross your feet in the air. Land with your feet shoulder-width apart. Alternate crossing and uncrossing your feet with every revolution. Scissors Begin by holding the jump rope behind you with an end in each hand. Your hands should be a few inches from the sides of your thighs. Stand with your right foot about two feet in front of your left. As you whip the rope over your head, switch the position of your feet. Switch the position again with the next rotation. Repeat in a continuous motion. Jump Cross Begin by holding the jump rope behind you with an end in each hand. Your hands should be a few inches from the sides of your thighs. Whip the rope over your head, then cross your arms and the rope in front of you. Quickly uncross both right before your jump over the rope. Squat Jumps Begin by holding the jump rope behind you with an end in each hand. Your hands should be a few inches from the sides of your thighs. Starting in a deep squat, whip the rope over your head and jump over it, maintaining a squat position as you land. Repeat in a continuous motion.
