Ingredients:
* 1.5 ounces VSOP cognac
* .25 ounces simple syrup
* .25 ounces fresh-squeezed lemon juice
* Ice cubes
* Brut champagne
* Lemon peel (for garnish)
Instructions:
Add cognac, simple syrup, lemon juice, and ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Shake well. Strain into a chilled champagne glass, top with champagne, and add lemon peel.
