In fact, she's specified that she prefers not to be labeled at all, which is totally fair! But why do fans speculate?
In 2019, she released the song "Monopoly" with Victoria Monét, in which Grande sings, "I like women and men." The lyric and Grande's collab with bisexual artist Monét caused many fans to wonder if she was officially coming out as bi (with some speculating that she may be queer-baiting for publicity), but when a fan tweeted, "ariana ain't gotta label herself, but she said what she said," Grande replied, "i haven't before and still don't feel the need to now which is okay."
But the rumors have continued, especially following her 2024 Wicked performance alongside queer actress and singer Cynthia Erivo. Fans have shipped Glinda and Elphaba since the musical first debuted on Broadway, and even Grande and Erivo have said they think the two characters are in love. The two actresses' affectionate behavior toward one another in interviews has sparked rumors that they're secretly dating, despite the fact that they're both in relationships already.
