There is no official version of Calibre for Android, but there are several ways to get your Calibre library onto your Android device. The easiest way is with the officially-sanctioned Calibre Companion app, which can sync your library wirelessly. You can then use an ebook reader app to read your synced books. Installing Calibre on an Android

There is no official Calibre app for Android, but there are two unofficial apps. Calibre Companion is $5.99 and will sync your library with your device. You can read your books using any Android eBook reader. You can also use a BookFusion plugin to sync your Calibre library with BookFusion for free.

Using Calibre Companion

    Download and install Calibre Companion. It costs $5.99 on the Google Play Store. Unfortunately, there is no free or demo version at this time. Calibre Companion is not an official app, but it is developed by one of the Calibre developers and is recommended by the Calibre development team. Use the following steps to download and install Calibre Companion:
    • Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
    • Search “Calibre Companion.”
    • Tap Calibre Companion .
    • Tap the price.
    • Slide the slider at the bottom of the screen to purchase the app.

    Allow Calibre Companion to access your device storage. After downloading the app, tap the app icon to open it. Then tap Continue, followed by Allow to allow Calibre Companion to access your device storage.

Using BookFusion and a Plugin

    Download and install BookFusion on your Android. BookFusion is a free eBook reader for Android. You can use it to access your Calibre library. Use the following steps to download and install it.
    • Open the Google Play Store .
    • Search “BookFusion.”
    • Tap BookFusion .
    • Tap Install.

    Open BookFusion and create an account. After downloading and installing BookFusion, tap the app icon to open it. You will be asked to create an account. You can sign up using your email, or you can tap one of the options to create an account using your Google, Facebook, Twitter/X, or Apple account.

    • Click the link next to “Visit.”
    • Sign in to your BookFusion account.
    • Click Create API key .
    • Click Copy next to the key .
    • Paste the API key next to “API Key” in the Calibre plugin window.
    • Click Ok .

    Sync your Calibre books with BookFusion. To do so, click the BookFusion icon in the toolbar at the top of Calibre. You may need to click the arrow to the right to display it. Select Sync all books and click Start .
    • Alternatively, you can sync specific books. To do so, hold Ctrl (or Command on Mac) and select the books you can to sync. Click the BookFusion icon in the toolbar, and click Sync selected books . Then click Start .

    Open a book in BookFusion. After syncing your books with BookFusion, they should appear in your BookFusion library. Open the BookFusion app on your Android device and tap a book. Tap Download to download the book. Then tap Read to start reading it in BookFusion
    • If you don’t see your Calibre books in your BookFusion Library, close the app and open it again.

    Close the apps and reopen them. If you are having issues with Calibre, Calibre Companion, or BookFusion, try closing the apps and re-opening them.

    Make sure both your devices are connected to the same network. If you cannot get Calibre to sync with Calibre Companion, check to make sure both your computer and your Android device are connected to the same wireless network.

You see the covers of the books you've downloaded the most recently. If you've just taken a sample, they will be present to the right of the covers of the downloaded books.
