Figure Eight
Pick a point on the floor about 10 feet in front of you. Trace an imaginary figure eight around the point with your eyes. Keep tracing for 30 seconds, then reverse the direction.
Palming
Rub the palms of your hands together until they are warm. Place them over your eyes to transfer the heat until they begin to cool. This soothes the oft-strained optic nerve. Repeat 2 or 3 times.
Rapid Blinking
Quickly blink your eyes 10-15 times. Then close and relax them for 20 seconds. Repeat 4 to 5 times.
Zooming
Hold a small object in your hand and sit in a chair. Hold the object at arm’s length in front of your face, then bend your arm to slowly bring the object closer to your eyes. Follow it with your sight the entire time.
Near/Far Focus
Hold your thumb about 10 inches from your face and focus on it for 15 seconds. Then, find an object 10 to 20 feet away and focus on it for 15 seconds. Repeat 5 times, moving between your thumb and the faraway object.
Around the World
Without moving your head, look up and hold for 3 seconds, then look down for 3 seconds. Look to the right as far as you can and hold for 3 seconds, then do the same on the left. Look to the top left and hold for 3 seconds, then do the same on the top right. Rotate your eyeball clockwise 2 times, then counterclockwise 2 times.
