What etiquette should you know when visiting the nail salon?
When you're at a nail salon, be mindful of not being too loud, and don’t forget to tip people that are servicing you—not just the person who is working with you, but also people that brought you coffee or tea, and service staff as well. If there’s a tipping box, always chip in.
What are the most important parts of phone etiquette?
Here are my top tips for phone etiquette:
  • Always put a smile on your face before you answer a call because one can hear in your voice if you're smiling or not.
  • Phone calls are for important conversations, and to be reserved for very important matters.
  • Before making a phone call, especially if you're doing it for someone you haven't talked to before, text before calling. You want to schedule a call.
What etiquette should you know when going to a gym?
Follow these rules of etiquette when you're at the gym:
  • Be mindful that your attire is not distracting to others and it's not calling unnecessary attention to you.
  • Make sure that your shoes are actually for the gym or that they're an indoor gym shoe. Don’t wear your outside shoes inside.
  • Use the towels provided by the gym or bring one with you and place it on the areas and on the equipment where your skin is touching the equipment and where you're likely to sweat.
  • Clean the equipment. The equipment that you're working out on should be in the same condition as when you found it before you used it.
  • Use headphones. If you forgot your headphones, put your phone on mute or mute the videos and just watch videos with subtitles. No one wants to hear whatever you're watching.
  • Don’t monopolize the equipment. If it's a busy time in the gym, move on.
  • Everyone should be standing outside each other's personal or social space at the gym.
  • If you want to talk to someone, whether to make a comment or ask a question, wait until their set is over.
What is most important to know for wedding etiquette?
Here are some of my top wedding etiquette tips:
  • If you are a guest, you have to be as gracious as you possibly can. You're there to celebrate their occasion. This is about them and not you.
  • Make sure that you respect the culture and the tradition of the inviting party.
  • Make sure that you have a great time because when you are having a great time, you're helping the host a lot.
  • Don't get too drunk, no matter what kind of wedding it is.
  • If you don't know the dress code, it's always good to ask. Don't wear white, red, or black (especially if you're a woman).
What are some unique housewarming gift ideas that are affordable?
Here are some of my recommendations: you could make a homemade cake or pie (allergen-free, of course!) and then wrap it nicely with a handwritten note card. Another idea is a low-maintenance potted plant, which I prefer to flowers because you don't know if they have a vase to put the flowers in, and that can add a job for them if they're busy hosting! There are a lot of plants that have good connotations or are considered lucky. It's also a gift that will go with almost any type of home decor (if you've never been to their new house and don't know what the style is, it can be hard to pick out a decor item). You could also get a cute yet useful kitchen item, like a nice set of teaspoons or a beautiful mug. I also really love bringing a selection of teas wrapped well or in a nice basket, because most households will drink tea. And, even if they don't drink tea often, they're likely host guests at some point that enjoy tea, so it should be a useful gift.
