Tips from our Readers
- Normally, a teacher will go over what will be on the test the day before it. This is really important. Pay close attention to what they are saying and write down the questions and answers. Then, study those with the rest of the materials the night(s) before.
- Here's something that's helped me: when I was studying, I chewed a type of gum that I've never chewed before. Then, during the test, I chewed that same type of gum. I don't know why, but this helped me remember the material on the test.
- When you're studying, read aloud information that's hard to remember. Hearing yourself say something out loud will help with remembering it.
- When you study, highlight the important key terms and important words. This helps if you are a visual learner.
- If you start to freak out, turn your test over for 15 seconds and take deep breaths. Then, try again.

About This Article
To ace a test, even if you're not prepared, start by glancing over the test before you get started to get an idea of how long it is so you can manage your time better. Then, read through each question twice and try to answer it. If you can't answer a question, skip it and come back to it later if you can, which will save you from wasting all of your time on one question. If your test is multiple choice and you don't know the answer, eliminate 2 answers so you're left with just 2 options. Then, guess if necessary since you'll have a 50-percent chance of being right.
