Do you want to share a PowerPoint presentation with your Facebook friends? You can easily add your PowerPoint to Facebook by saving it as a video file. Once converted, you can post the video version of the slideshow to your timeline. This wikiHow article will walk you through converting your presentation to a video file in Microsoft PowerPoint, and teach you how to share the converted presentation on Facebook. We’ll also explain how to share a link to your presentation in OneDrive.

Open the PowerPoint presentation you want to upload. You can either click the ".ppt" or ".pptx" file to launch it in PowerPoint, or open PowerPoint and click Open in the menu to the left. Then you can either click a recent document below Recent , or click Browse to browse to a file on your PC.

Record your slideshow (optional). If you want to add an audio narration or preset timing to your PowerPoint presentation, you can do so by recording your PowerPoint presentation. PowerPoint will record a separate audio/video recording for each slide. - Click the slide you want to start recording from.
- Click Record in the upper right side of the menu bar. You may be prompted to allow access to your microphone.
- Click the red Record
button at the top of the screen to add your narration for the current slide.
- You can also type a script for yourself at the top of the window if you'd like.
- You’ll see a 3-second countdown before the recording starts.
- Click the Stop button at the top of the screen when you’re done (it’s in the same place as the Record button, but it will turn into a square Stop button while you’re recording).
- Use the navigation arrows below the slide to move to the next slide.
- Click the Record button again.
- Add your narration for the slide.
- Click the Stop button.
- Continue until your slideshow is completed.

Export the PowerPoint presentation as a video file. Facebook supports various video file formats but recommends uploading videos in MP4 format. - Click the File tab at the top of the page.
- Click Export in the menu bar to the left.
- Click Create a video
- Use the first drop-down menu to select the video quality ("HD" is recommended).
- Use the second drop-down menu to select if you want to use pre-recorded narrations.
- Use the drop-down menu next to "Seconds spent on each slide" to select how many seconds each slide should be.
- Click Create video .
- Enter a file name for the video file next to "File name." You can also browse for a location where you want to save your video.
- Use the drop-down menu next to "Save as Type" to select "MPEG-4 Video".
- Click Save and allow a few minutes for it to finish processing.

Confirm the video specs are appropriate for Facebook. Facebook does not allow you to upload videos that are greater than 10 GB, larger than 1080p resolution, or longer than 240 minutes. Use the following steps to confirm your video specs: [3] X Research source

- Select Properties from pop-up menu.
- Click the General tab in the properties dialogue box.
- Verify that the file size is not more than 10 GB MB.

Log into OneDrive in a browser. Visit https://onedrive.live.com and sign in with your Microsoft ID and password.
- If you don’t have a Microsoft account, sign up for one first.
- This method will allow you to create a sharable link to your PowerPoint presentation, which you can post on Facebook. It used to be possible to share a PowerPoint directly from OneDrive to linked social media accounts , but this feature does not seem to be available as of July 2024.

Open the PowerPoint file you want to share. Go to the My Files tab, navigate to the document you want to post on Facebook and click on it to open it. If you don’t see it, you can upload it now:
- Click the Add new button at the top of the menu on the left side of the page.
- Select Files upload .
- Navigate to the location on your computer where your PowerPoint presentation is located, select it, then click Open .
- Wait for the file to upload. This may take several minutes, depending on your internet speed and the size of your file.
- Locate the file on OneDrive and click it to open it.
- You can also create a new PowerPoint directly in OneDrive if you want.

Click the Share tab. Hover your cursor over the top of your slideshow to expand the menu bar. Click the orange Share button at the far-right corner of the screen.

Select Copy Link . This will generate a shareable link to your presentation.
- By default, anyone with access to the link can edit your PowerPoint online. If you want to change this, click Anyone with the link can edit at the bottom of the popup and select your preferred sharing options.

Click Copy . The link will be saved to your clipboard.

Navigate to Facebook and create a post. If you aren’t already logged in, do so now. Click the box near the top of your feed that says What’s on your mind, [your name]? to start a new post.

Paste your link into the post and click Post . If you want, add text or images to your post or adjust your privacy settings before you share it. Anyone who clicks on the link in your post will be able to view your PowerPoint presentation in OneDrive on the web.
