    • If you wanna / Ride this train / Get on up / And play our game / We say, 1, 2, 3, 4 / Look out, we hit and we score / 5, 6, 7, 8 / We don’t stop until we hit home plate / 9 and 10, here we come again.

Baseball Chants for Softball Players

  1. Softball is similar to baseball, but it’s played on a slightly smaller field with a larger ball and underhand pitching (rather than overhand). It’s also primarily played by female players, rather than male players. Many of the most popular baseball chants can be used for softball, but here are some that are specific to the stellar game of softball : [5]
    • We don’t play baseball / We don’t run track / We play softball / And we’re bringing sexy back.

Baseball Heckles to Taunt a Umpire

PDF download Download Article
  1. It’s up to umpires to make game-deciding calls at home base, which means that they often take a lot of heat from players or fans whose best interests aren’t served by those calls. As a result, there are a whole lot of heckles used to taunt and insult umpires after they make a call. Here are just a few: [6]
    • You drop more calls than AT&T.
    • I’ve heard better calls at a square dance!
    • Now I know why there’s only one “eye” in “umpire.”
    • Don’t donate your eyes to science, they don’t want ‘em.
    • I thought only horses slept standing up!
    • Wake up, ump, you’re missing a great game!
    • So which one of you is the designated driver?
    • I was confused the first time I saw a game, too.
    • I’ve seen better blue in a toilet bowl!
    • Come on, Blue! [7]

When is it appropriate to start a baseball chant?

PDF download Download Article
  1. You can start a baseball chant during lull moments (i.e., before or after a pitch). Baseball chants are appropriate at almost any part of the game, but they’re usually reserved for right before or after a pitch is thrown. However, the only time that it’s forbidden to do a chant is during the pitch itself. As soon as the pitcher begins their throwing motion, you must stop your chant and allow the stadium to go quiet during the pitch and hit. Once the hit (or non-hit) happens, you can begin a chant again. [8]
    • Chants are usually used to support your team, cheer after a major play, or show frustration toward a player’s performance or an umpire’s call.
