  2. A french curve is a template made out of metal, wood or plastic composed of many different curves. It is used in manual drafting to draw smooth curves of varying radii. [5]

    • Hammer nails into 2 straight lines with the width of the wire being the distance between the lines.
    • Pull the wire through the row of nails.
    • Repeat if necessary.
