This article will walk you through how to bookmark a website, whether you're using Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge, with helpful tips from computer and tech specialist Luigi Oppido.
Bookmark a Page
If you're using the desktop version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari, you can bookmark a website by pressing Control + D (Windows/Chromebook) or Cmd + D (Mac). In the mobile version of Chrome, tap the menu and select Add to Bookmarks . In Safari for iOS, tap and hold the book icon and select Add bookmark .

Navigate to the page you want to bookmark in Chrome. If you're using the Google Chrome web browser on your PC, Mac, or Chromebook, it's easy to bookmark any website you want.

Name your bookmark. By default, your new bookmark will have the same name as the title of the page. Click the current name in the pop-out window to enter a new name.

Organize the bookmark. Chrome allows you to browse through your bookmark folders in the bookmark pop-out window. Click the menu to select a location for your bookmark.

Show or hide the bookmarks bar. In Chrome, the bookmarks bar is located directly underneath the address bar. This bar will display all of your bookmark folders and any bookmarks you add directly to the bar. You can toggle the bookmarks bar by pressing Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + B (PC/Chromebook) or ⌘ Cmd + ⇧ Shift + B (Mac).

Edit the bookmark details. As soon as you add a bookmark, you can tap Edit on the pop-up to make changes to the name and saving location. If you miss the pop-up, tap the three-dot menu and select Edit bookmark to open the editor. When selecting a folder, you can tap "New folder" to make a new folder in the currently selected folder.
- You can type a new name for the bookmark next to "Name."
- To choose a different folder to save the bookmark to (the default is "Mobile bookmarks"), tap the default folder, then choose another, or tap New folder to create a new one.
- Tap Done or Save when you are satisfied with the bookmark.

Visit the website you want to bookmark using Safari on your computer. If you're using Safari on a Mac, you can add a bookmark easily in Safari. If you're signed into the same Apple account anywhere else, these bookmarks will sync to everywhere else signed into the same Apple account, like on your iPhone and iPad.
