Did you want to remove a certain website from your iPad browser history? When you delete your history, you also clear the cookies and cache. This can help speed up your device or fix any minor bugs when trying to visit websites. Here's how to clear the history on an iPad using Safari, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox, plus how to clear your Google search history.
Deleting Browsing History on iPad
To delete your browsing history on your iPad, open Settings. Select Apps > Safari > Clear History and Website Data . Select All history , and then tap Clear history .

Open the Settings app. This is the cog icon.

Tap Apps . If you have an older iOS version, skip this step.Advertisement

Tap Safari . You may need to scroll down to find this.

Tap Clear History and Website Data . This is towards the bottom of the page.

Select a timeframe. If you don't want to erase all data, select Last hour , Today , or Today and yesterday . Otherwise, select All history .

Tap Clear history . This is the red button. Your history, including your cookies and cache , will be deleted. [1] X Research source
- If you want to search the web privately, consider using Incognito Mode .

Open Google Chrome . This app icon resembles a red, green, yellow, and blue circle on a white background.

Tap ••• . You'll see this icon in the top-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear.

Tap History . This is at the top of the menu under a clock icon.

Tap Delete Browsing Data… . You can find this at the bottom of the menu.

Select the time range. Tap Time range and select Last Hour , Last 24 hours , Last 7 days , Last 4 weeks , or All time .
- When you're finished, tap the back arrow to return to the previous page.

Select the data you want to delete. By default, Browsing history , Cookies, site data , and Cached images and files will be selected. If you want to save any of this data, tap it to deselect it.

Tap Delete browsing data . This is at the bottom.

Tap Delete browsing data again. Your history will be deleted.

Tap ☰ . It's in the top-right corner of the screen. Doing so prompts a drop-down menu.

Tap History . This is the second option.

Tap the trashcan icon. This is at the bottom-left corner.

Tap Everything . If you want to delete history from a certain time, select The Last Hour , Today , or Today and Yesterday instead.
- Your history will be deleted.

Go to https://www.google.com/ in your mobile browser. If you're logged into your Google account, your search history will be saved automatically.

Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner. This will open a menu.

Tap Search history . This is underneath the More from Google Search header. You'll be redirected to your account activity.

Tap Delete . This is the drop-down menu above your history list.

Select a timeframe. You can choose: Delete today , Delete custom range , Delete all time or Auto-delete .
- If you selected Delete custom range , you'll need to enter a start and end date.
- If you select Auto-delete , you'll need to specify when to automatically delete your history.
- Your Google search history will be deleted.
