  1. The pot should be big enough to accommodate your lobster tails. If you don’t have a steamer basket, you could use a small metal colander to keep the tails from being submerged in the water. [1]
  2. The amount of water will vary based on how large the pot is, but aim to fill it a couple inches. The basket or colander should keep the lobster tails out of, but close to, the water. Then, cover the pot with the lid and bring the water to a boil on medium-high heat. [2]

    You can use a gas or charcoal grill to cook lobster. Make sure the grill is clean and there is no food or char left from a previous meal. [12]
