There are a lot of free, or inexpensive, programs out there to manipulate graphics. ArtWeaver is one of them and is a very good one. Try it...you'll like it!
Steps

Be sure that your brush window is open . If it isn't, go to Window and Show Brush or CTRL 9.Advertisement

Open a new canvas. Go to File >> New... or CTRL N. Start out at 640 * 480.

Click on the brush icon and choose calligraphy.

Choose a 'pen' to write with .

Find your brush and start practicing.
- It will take a little practice, but you will find it can be lots of fun.
