Learn where to find Snom and how to evolve it into Frosmoth
PDF download Download Article

When Snom was introduced in Generation 8, it quickly became a fan-favorite Pokémon. This Pokémon looks like a cute little white worm and evolves into a cool, all-white moth Pokémon called Frosmoth. But how exactly do you evolve Snom? You may have noticed that no matter how many times you level it, it just won't evolve. Snom is one of many Pokemon that evolve based on their happiness level, and while it isn't difficult to raise your Snom's happiness, it does take time. In this article we'll teach you where to find Snom as well as how to raise its happiness so you can add Frosmoth to your Pokedex.

Things You Should Know

  • Snom can be found in the northern part of Paldea, specifically Dalizapa Passage or Glaseado Mountain.
  • Spend time with Snom to raise its happiness, and regularly check its happiness level at the friendship rater in Cascarrafa.
  • Once your Snom has enough happiness, level it one time at night to evolve it into a Frosmoth.

  1. Snom is a bit difficult to see because of its small size, but you can usually find it moving around in the grass.
    • If you can, catch your Snom with a Luxury Ball. Luxury Balls boost friendship increases by 1. Luxury Balls can be bought at any Poke Mart after you have 4 Gym Badges. [1]
  2. Unlike other Pokemon , Snom doesn't evolve by level or by using a special item. Instead, you must raise its happiness , sometimes also called "friendship." Happiness evolutions have been in the Pokemon series for years, but they're not always very straightforward. You can raise your Pokemon's happiness by doing the following:
    • Using potions or other items on the Pokemon
    • Feeding it Grepa, Hondew, Kelpsy, Pomeg, Qualot, or Tamato Berry
    • Playing with it at camp
    • Taking the Pokemon for a walk with the Let's Go feature
    • Doing any of the above with a Soothe Bell equipped and/or in the same area you caught the Pokemon will further increase friendship. Soothe Bells can be bought at all Delibird Presents branches. [2]

  3. Near the fountain on the upper level of Cascarrafa, there is a friendship rater. When you show a Pokemon to the friendship rater, she will say a phrase that correlates to a friendship level. [3]
    • Show the friendship rater your Snom. If she says "Wow, you're pretty great friends! You sure mean a lot to each other." your Snom is ready to evolve. [4]
    • If the friendship rater says "You're good friends, all right! You definitely enjoy each other's company!" then your Snom may be ready to evolve. This statement correlates to a happiness level of 200-229, and Snom needs a minimum happiness of 220 to evolve. You can try to evolve your Snom, or keep raising happiness until you get the next phrase.
  4. You can use a Rare Candy, EXP Candies, or battle experience to level up your Snom. Once your Snom levels up one time, as long as it has enough happiness, it will evolve into Frosmoth. [5]
    • If you're not having luck evolving a Snom or you don't want to spend the time, you may be able to find a wild Frosmoth in North Province Area One or Glaseado Mountain, or in Area Zero. They are also present in 4-star and 6-star Tera Raid Battles. [6]
