Steps
-
1Take care of your Paralyzed Pokémon. If your Active Pokémon is Paralyzed, turn it clockwise. That Pokémon cannot retreat or attack.
- If your Active Pokémon has been Paralyzed since the beginning of your turn, then it will return to normal at the end of your turn. When this happens, turn the Pokémon card back to its original position.
-
2Take care of your Confused Pokémon. If your Active Pokémon is Confused, turn it upside-down.
- if you want to attack with your Confused Pokémon, flip a coin. If heads, the attack works normally. If tails, the attack does nothing, and that Confused Pokémon takes 30 damage (three damage counters).

Take care of your Asleep Pokémon. If your Active Pokémon is Asleep, turn it counterclockwise. That Pokémon cannot retreat or attack.
- Between turns, flip a coin. If heads, the Pokémon is now awake. If this happens, turn the card to its original position. If tails, it stays Asleep.
-
4Take care of your Burned Pokémon. If your Active Pokémon is Burned, put a Burn marker on it.
- Between turns, put two damage counters on the Burned Pokémon. Then, the Burned Pokémon’s owner flips a coin. If heads, the Pokémon is no longer Burned. If this happens, then remove the Burned maker. If tails, the Pokémon stays Burned.
- That is the Sun and Moon rule. The other rule is you flip a coin. If heads, the Burned Pokémon takes no damage, but is still Burned. If tails, it takes 20 damage (two damage counters). You have to retreat it in order to get rid of the Special Condition; the Sun and Moon rule doesn’t require that. Both rules are similar, though .
- Between turns, put two damage counters on the Burned Pokémon. Then, the Burned Pokémon’s owner flips a coin. If heads, the Pokémon is no longer Burned. If this happens, then remove the Burned maker. If tails, the Pokémon stays Burned.
-
5Take care of your Poisoned Pokémon. If your Active Pokémon is Poisoned, put a Poison marker on it.
- Between turns, put one damage counter on the Poisoned Pokémon. Then, the Poisoned Pokémon’s owner flips a coin. If heads the Pokémon is no longer Poisoned. If this happens, then remove the Poisoned maker. If tails, the Pokémon stays Poisoned.
