Love s'mores but don't have a campfire or fireplace? Luckily, you can make them indoors using just your microwave! There are several ways of making a basic s'more, and even more ways to spice it up!

Ingredients

Making a Basic Microwave S'more

  1. Place one of the graham cracker halves on a plate with a paper towel on it. Set the other graham cracker half aside. The paper towel will prevent the cracker from getting soggy.
    • If you can't find any graham crackers, you can use another similar honey-cinnamon flavored cracker instead.
  2. If you are using one of those large chocolate bars that have brick-like lines, use those lines as a guide. The chocolate should be a little smaller than the graham cracker.

  3. Stand it up on the flat side, so that it doesn't roll off when you move the plate. Do not place the other graham cracker half on top just yet; you will do that at the end.
  4. Put the plate with the s'more on it into the microwave, and heat it on high for 15 seconds. [4] The chocolate will start to melt and become soft, and the marshmallow will puff up.
    • If the marshmallow puffs up too much, heat the s'more at 5-second intervals. Let the marshmallow deflate before heating it again. [5]

  6. S'mores are tasty while they are still hot, but they won't be much fun to eat if you burn your tongue on them!

  1. If you can't get any graham crackers, you can use another type of honey-cinnamon flavored crackers instead.
  2. You can use any type of chocolate spread, such as Nutella. You can also use chocolate fudge sauce instead. If you are using chocolate fudge sauce, make sure that it is cold and thick, like butter; don't heat and melt it beforehand.
  3. If you can't find any marshmallow spread, you can use one marshmallow, or four mini marshmallows.
  4. Place the chocolate and marshmallow sides together, and make sure that the corners match up. To prevent the graham cracker from getting soggy, put a paper towel underneath it.
  5. If you are making more than one s'more at a time, you may need to increase the cooking time to 20 to 30 seconds. [6]
  6. Press down hard enough so that the s'more sticks together, but not so hard that the marshmallow oozes out everywhere, or that the cracker breaks.

  1. Graham crackers are sweet, so other types of sweet crackers or cookies will work too. Try it with vanilla wafers or even chocolate chip cookies.
    • If you are using a vanilla wafer, consider using a mini marshmallow instead, or cutting a larger one in half to make a short marshmallow. [7]
  2. Milk chocolate is most commonly used to make s'mores, but white chocolate and dark chocolate may appeal more to you. If you like things really sweet, you might prefer white chocolate, and if you don't like things really sweet, dark chocolate might be the thing for you.

  6. Fill a small bowl or dish with nonpareil sprinkles (the type shaped like tiny balls). Make your s'more, then dip each of the four edges into the sprinkles. The sprinkles will stick to the melted chocolate and marshmallow, giving it a burst of color. [13]
  7. After you have heated and assembled your s'mores, melt some chocolate in the microwave, then drizzle it over the s'mores. Put the s'mores into the fridge for a few minutes so that it can harden, then eat it.

    If you would like it more chocolatey, simply add another piece like you said. Some people like less chocolate and more marshmallow. I tend to add more chocolate to it, as it seems to make it sweeter.
