How to Make a Bolster Pillow

You can easily add a decorative touch to living room furniture or spruce up a guest room with a bolster pillow -- a cylindrical pillow, used to provide back support. You can even opt to hug your bolsters as you sleep. Once you learn how to make a bolster pillow on your own, you can sew the pillow in an afternoon and enjoy a new decorative pillow on your bed by evening. You can use polyester batting to make a softer pillow or an old bath towel for a firmer bolster pillow.

    Set the paint can on top of the fabric, near the bottom edge. Trace around the paint can with the fabric marker.

      To make a bolster pillow, cut 2 circles of the same size out of a piece of fabric. To form the body of the pillow, cut a piece of fabric that has a length of the circumference of the circles, and any width that you'd like, with 1/2 inch on each side for a seam allowance.
