Estimate the capacity (volume) the shot glass or cordial glass. Divide this by four, as each layered ingredient will take up about one fourth of the glass. This can be done by eye or with measuring cups. Leave a little extra space so that the last ingredient doesn't overflow from the glass.

Pour the Kahlua directly into the glass so that it fills up about one fourth of the glass.
