People of all ages can use infinity cubes to relieve stress and gain focus or to use as a fun toy. The infinity cube is one cube made up of smaller cubes that can be remodeled in an endless number of ways. All you will need is six different colors of construction paper, basic craft tools and about an hour or two of your time. This is a good project for a rainy day.
Steps
-
1Cut out a rectangle with a length of 4 centimeter (1.6 in) and a width of 2 centimeter (0.79 in)
-
2Measure the halfway point of the length. Then draw a line across the rectangle.Advertisement
-
3Fold the paper so that the ends touch the line.
-
4Repeat this process five more times. Use a different color of construction paper for each repetition.
-
Apply glue to the outside flaps of each rectangle.
-
Begin constructing the first cube by connecting the flaps of one rectangle to the inside surface of the other rectangle, making two phases of the cube.
-
Glue a third rectangle onto the newly added one. Make sure the flaps of rectangle one attach to the inside surface of rectangle three. Repeat this step and attach the rectangle to the other side of the second rectangle.
-
Attach the base new rectangle to the top flaps of the third and fourth rectangles.
-
Slide the final rectangle in place by attaching its flaps to the third and fourth rectangles, closing up the cube.
-
10Repeat these steps eight more times to make eight cubes in total.

QuestionCan I use tape instead of glue, and can I use origami paper?Community AnswerTape will not last as long as glue, especially a glue made for paper. There's no reason you can't use origami paper, though.
-
QuestionIs there a specific paper I need to use for making an infinity cube?Community AnswerNo, but you may want to consider paper that is thick so that you do not have to worry about it being flimsy.
-
QuestionDoes the length of the paper matter?Community AnswerNo, but it has to be in a 2:1 ratio between height and width. Then you can just follow the directions and you'll have an infinity cube that works perfectly.

- Instead of using a liquid glue like Elmer's, use a glue stick. Wet glues will make the paper soggy and take longer to dry. If you only have a liquid, gel, or creamy glue, use a very small amount.
- I recommend index cards for this. They're easy to work with and already a good size.
