Transform a simple sheet of paper into a fun, three-dimensional inflatable cube with just a few folds and puffs of air. This creative origami project is easy to make and perfect for beginners looking to explore paper crafting!
Steps
-
First, fold one sheet of square paper in half horizontally to create a crease guide and then unfold the sheet of paper.
- Press creases with your thumbnail to ensure clean folds, and make sure you’re folding on a flat surface like a table or desk for better accuracy.
-
Next, fold the sheet in half vertically to create a crease guide and then unfold the sheet of paper.Advertisement
-
Now, fold the sheet in half diagonally (top right corner to lower left corner) to create another crease guide and unfold the sheet of paper.
-
Once again, fold the sheet in half diagonally (top left corner to lower right corner) to create a crease guide then unfold the sheet of paper.
-
Next, fold in the two side creases on the sheet until they form into a pyramid shape.
-
Fold the triangle corners up in half so they meet at the top point. Repeat on the other side of the triangle shape.
-
Next, fold the right and left corners to the center of the diamond shape. Repeat on the other side of the diamond shape.
-
Now fold down the small left and right side triangles in half so they meet in the center. Repeat this step on the other side.
-
Unfold the larger left and right side and fold down in the small triangles (same triangles folded a couple steps earlier). Repeat this step on the other side.
-
Tuck in the small triangles gently ,as you do not want to break the corners (Repeat this step on the other side).
-
Finally, blow into the hole at the bottom until the cube is inflated.

-
QuestionCan it be any kind of paper?LoreCommunity AnswerYes, as long as it folds well and is not too stiff or flimsy.
-
QuestionWhich hole do you blow into inflate it?Community AnswerOn one side of the pointy ends, it looks kind of ripped, and you blow in there.
-
QuestionHow do I fold the two side creases in to make pyramid?Community AnswerHold the piece of paper as if folding in half horizontally, but as you push two of the horizontal folds in together, the diagonal folds need to push out. If you can get one side into an equilateral triangle with the point at the top, the other side will follow suit.

- Eventually, condensation your breath and frequent reinflating will break down the paper. If there are holes in your cube, you can patch them up with tape.
- Don't use paper that's too thin or it won't hold its shape. You'll also want to avoid paper that's too thick as you won't be able to inflate it.
