    Expert Answer
When students are habitually late for school, it's usually because they're staying up too late. Think about why you're going to bed late—are you playing games, doing homework, helping your family, or working a job? You may need to reevaluate your priorities. Your education is the most important thing when you're under the age of 18.

    Expert Answer
If you're having trouble getting out of bed, invest in a reliable alarm. Don't use your cell phone—if it dies or the power goes out, the alarm won't go off. Make sure to put the alarm away from your bed so you have to get up to turn it off, and set it for about an hour to an hour and a half before you have to be at school.
  • Question
How do I avoid being late when I have to rely on someone else who is late?
    Community Answer
Have a talk with the chronically late person about how you're really trying to get to school on time and you need their help. Share some of these tips with them. If all else fails, you may have to try to find another way to school.
  • Question
What can I do when I don't have enough time to eat breakfast in the morning?
    Community Answer
Try to keep your kitchen stocked with stuff you can grab on the go, like smoothies, granola and protein bars, Go-Gurt, etc.
  • Question
I've tried everything to get up when my alarm goes off, but nothing works. Any suggestions for me?
    Community Answer
If you can't get up when your alarm goes off, you probably aren't getting enough sleep, which means you need to go to bed earlier. It's also a good idea to set a few alarms, and maybe even ask someone else in your household to make sure you get up.
  • Question
How do I get to school on time when I have to take 2 buses, and can't take any other routes?
    Community Answer
The night before, pack your bag, pick out clothes, and if you want to, make a fruity smoothie for breakfast. They’re healthy and delicious! You can also drink them on the way to school. When you wake up, put on the clothes you picked out, wash your face and brush your teeth quickly, then grab your smoothie and leave!
  • Question
What should I do if I have to go with my sibling to school and they're a heavy sleeper?
    Community Answer
Once you wake up, wake them. Pull the blankets off of them or turn on their lights if necessary, just make sure they wake up and don't fall back asleep. You may also have to convince them to go to bed earlier in order for them to wake up at a reasonable time.
  • Question
The buses that I take to school arrive late when it rains. This happens to me at least once or twice a week, and then my parents have to call the college and my classmates ask me questions. What should I do?
    Community Answer
At my school, you won’t get in trouble if your bus is late. Also, ignore your classmate’s questions. Ultimately, your parents should sort it out.
  • Question
How do I know if somebody didn’t change my timer when avoiding being late for school?
    HOLLAND BIGGS
    Community Answer
You would hear footsteps, or if you have a yelling brother or sister, they could be playing with it. If that happens, you go tell your parents or tell them to stop. I would know if someone would switch it has two dots, one dot if off and two dots on.
