  • Question
I have been trying to find a legitimate job in this field but I have had no success. How do I find one that is not fake?
    Community Answer
Total Lip Service taught me how to work on a site called NiteFlirt. It is a site for phone sex pros but TLS has a training course that I took which taught me all the ins and outs about fetishes and making the call last longer. NiteFlirt lets you set your own rate, so I charge 1.99 a minute now.
  • Question
What sort of wages should I expect?
    Jennifer
    Community Answer
It starts out low, because you have to pay more to market yourself, e.g., .25/minute. But keep in mind, just because you're available doesn't mean that you are talking, so if you're trying to figure out what you make in an hour, you could really only be working for a fraction of a penny per minute.

  • Question
Will there be relationship problems if I become a phone sex operator?
    Community Answer
That really depends on your partner and how they cope with this job. If he/she is the jealous type, you probably will have issues. However, this can be alleviated by sitting down and talking things through before accepting the job. Discuss why you want to do it, what finances it will bring into the household, where you will do it and what boundaries are in place. Most of all, be clear that it is a job and not a personal thing.

When you're working for a phone sex company how is your phone number kept from the client?

The company forwards calls to you or pays for a service that forwards calls to you. The customer dials the 800 number, and it gets forwarded to your phone.
  • Question
What are the percentages that Talktome and Niteflirt may take out? Can I use my computer more than my cell phone to chat/talk with clients? Why is it not good to start my own operator business?
    SueDoNymn
    Community Answer
Talktome and Niteflirt are hands down the WORST companies you can work for. You basically pay them to let you put up your own stuff. They do not advertise you past the first 30 days putting new people on the new banner. Then you get moved to page 537 or something like that. You can not advertise yourself or do anything to help yourself make more money. To start your own business you need a way to ring up customers without them being able to show up at your door to visit you. It is a safety issue. Terminals charge 50K to open an account. Venmo, cash app and all those pay sites, if the customer disputes a charge they get your information. Not safe at all. Plus you won't make enough money.
  • Question
Is it possible to work as a phone sex operator as a CIS man?
    Community Answer
Yes, but while some companies might not hire you, others will. Only men call phone sex companies, so you'd need to pretend to be a woman to get the men interested in "chatting."
  • Question

  • Question
How do I get started? I'm up late late every night, and I was an exotic dancer and wrote serious porn. I also have a degree in business and psychology. I'm a big talker and want t use my skills but I collect social security.
    SueDoNymn
    Community Answer
There is only 1 hiring board for sex work. The laws make it so there can be no advertisement on job boards. Don't get me started on that. I am a hiring manager for a phone sex company. It is super important to do your research. There are a lot of fake companies. Make sure you know the STATE the company is located in. It is the only way you can file a complaint if needed. Sexyjobs is the only hiring site for most of the companies. I mean we all have out on sites to apply. Sexyjobs is the only site we can advertise on. You can read about all the big companies and pick who is best for you.
  • Question
What is the average hourly rate of pay?
    SueDoNymn
    Community Answer
There is no average hourly rate. You get paid by the minute. There is no set pay rate or minimum. Some companies pay as little as 13 cents a minute. Some pay up to a dollar a minute. You also have to look for loopholes like hold times. They average all your calls together and if you don't make enough long calls, they drop your pay rate lower. So they may advertise 50 cents a minute. But after averaging all your hang ups and time wasted, you make 15 cents a minute.
  • Question
I am interested in becoming a very sensual, mysterious and sexual phone sex operator. I have experience with past lovers and boyfriends, and they all love my voice. I'm a GREAT listener and teaser!
    SueDoNymn
    Community Answer
Phone sex is nothing like your boyfriends. Most companies are "no taboo," meaning you talk about everything. Sex with animals, children, forced, group, all kinds of things. The only positive way to think about it is: these customers don't want to go out and hurt kids or animals. They need a safe way to work through there messed up fantasies (most of which probably happen because they were abused when younger). Being a phone sex operator can be a fantastic job. But it is a job. And the content can be very difficult.
  • Question
I want to work remotely from home, and I want to work as a phone sex operator. How do I know what companies are reputable?
    SueDoNymn
    Community Answer
Sexyjobs.com is a hiring board where contractors can leave reviews of companies. You can also apply there for adult work including phone sex. There are a lot of scams out there, so you really have to be careful.
