With a partner, try on your gown and raise the train to the desired length from the floor. Pin the train into place. Add buttons to the waist, then sew strong thread in a chain stitch to the train portion of the stitch. Secure it with a knot underneath.

Loops need a hole. Depending upon the fixture of the loops (which can be single, double or any other amount), you can make an entire circular border secured with a neat stitch. Since it will go on a plain part of the dress or the hem, it should not be stitched too tightly or it will pull unevenly once done. Practice attaching on cut parts of this dress to see how it will look or try on any other fabric piece by piercing a hole, holding the loop in place making sure it falls on the buttons just right, and sewing it.
