What is the best counter for Zapdos if you don't have any rock type Pokemon?

I used Articuno at lvl 50 hit him one time that left Zapdos at 1hp and used butterferry at lvl 36 to give him sleep powder then I shifted to Charizard with lvl 46 for his health, that is 145 hp and I got Zapdos with only 12 great balls without getting hit or losing any Pokemon (idk if it was my entire life luck)
