Start by wiping surfaces with a soapy sponge. This includes tables, counters, possibly the fridge, and even cupboards. Then dry with a small towel. Next, go through and make sure all food is put away properly. You can also go through your pantry and fridge and through away any expired food or medicine. Once you are done with all that, do the dishes. If your sink is full it can make the whole kitchen look bad. Finally, use a Swiffer or vacuum to clean the floors of your kitchen. Once this is all done, go around and collect any recycling and garbage and take it out. Put away any unused pots and pans and minimize stuff on surfaces. Then you should be done!
