  • Question
When I am attempting a side or a hook kick, I get a stabbing pain in my lower back, especially the left side. How do I get rid of this?
    Community Answer
See a doctor to make sure you don't have any injuries that could be causing this lower back pain. Then, make sure you stretch daily so that your muscles will be used to the kicking motion.

How should I bring down my leg after the kick?
    Community Answer
My instructor told me when we bring our leg back in after a kick, we should follow the same path we did going in to make the kick.

Maybe you should stretch your foot more. Start by rotating you ankle. Also, pivot using the foot you are standing on until you're kicking with the side of your foot.
  • Question
Is there a way to help with the accuracy of the kicks?
    Community Answer
Practice a lot. Practice every day and aim for the same spot each time. Place a piece of tape or some other marker on the wall and keep your eye on it so you know where you're aiming.
