  • Question
Can I do an antilog of a negative number?
    Community Answer
The antilog of a number is the same as raising 10 to the power of the number. So, antilog -x =1/(10 to the power x). Therefore, you can do an antilog of a negative number.
  • Question
How can I find the antilog of 3.76?
    Harris
    Community Answer
Log x = 3.76, where x = antilog 3.76. A characteristic of log x = 3, a mantissa of log x = .76. In the table of antilog, look for .76 in extreme left column and 0 in top row. Now look at the number at intersection of row containing .76 and column containing 0. The number is 5754. Note that the place between first nonzero digit and its next digit is called 'reference position' e.g 3^76 -- ref-position is between 3 and 7. Here reference position is between 5 and 7. The characteristic is 3, so the decimal point in 5754 will be after three digits right to the ref-position. x = 5754.
  • Question
Why do you use a dot in 0.0013?
    Pineapple.com
    Community Answer
The dot shows it is a decimal which defines its place (0.1= a tenth while 0.001= a hundredth).
  • Question
Where is anti-log on a calculator?
    Donagan
    Top Answerer
Smaller calculators may not have that feature. Those that do will have a key marked "LOG^-1," "10^x," "ALOG," or perhaps a two-button sequence marked "INV" and "LOG."
  • Question
In what direction does one move the decimal point after finding the antilog?
    Community Answer
Find the antilog value. Add 1 to the characteristic. If the number after adding 1 to the characteristic comes out to be 'n', put the decimal after 'n' decimal points starting from the first digit of your antilog value.
  • Question
How do I find the antilog of 15.6?
    Community Answer
The characteristic is 15, s theo decimal point should be placed after 16 digits. Find mantissa in the regular way.
  • Question
How to find the characteristics because in our school it is taught that count the numbers before decimal point and subtract one from it but you are directly taking the number before the decimal point as the characteristics so I am confused about which method I should use.
    Harris
    Community Answer
There are two methods. One: Write the number in scientific notation, the power of ten is characteristic. e.g 345 = 3.45*10^2. Here CH is 2. Two: If no. > 1, then count the number of digits to the left of the decimal point and subtract 1 from that count. It will be the CH. If the no>1, then count number of zeros after decimal point and add 1 to that count. It will be the CH. e.g 345.7 , it is >1 so no. of digits before decimal point is 3 . CH = 3-1 =2.
  • Question
How do you find the antilogarithm of a number that has 0 before the mantissa?
    Community Answer
The same method as above, but the decimal will be after one figure ( 0+1=1) in the answer.
  • Question
How can I find antilog of -0.628?
    Community Answer
Step 1: Subtract the number by the consecutive whole number. In this example the subtraction will be: - 1-0.628=0.372. Step 2: Now find the antilog of the found positive no I.e in this case 0.372.
  • Question
Log4 can be written as 2 to the power 2, but not as 2*2. Why?
    Community Answer
Actually, log4 can't be written as 2 squared because 2 squared is equal to 4. So log4 can be written as 2.
  • Question
How can I calculate antilog of -4.9821?
    Community Answer
First take out the negative sign, and then find the antilog of then given value. Answer will be with a negative sign.
  • Question
How to find the antilog when the number is 10.1844?
    Community Answer
The characteristic is 10 and the mantissa is 1844. Knowing this, follow the steps to find the antilog provided in this article using the characteristic and the mantissa.
  • Question
If the characteristic is negative, then how do I add the decimal point?
    Community Answer
The method remains the same, but you would put a bar next to the characteristic to show that it's negative.
  • Question
How to find antilog of 0.66?
    Community Answer
You separate characteristic and mantissa and get 0 as characteristic and •66 as mantissa .When you find the antlog of •66 you get 4571 then you take a characteristic which is 0 plus 1.After that you take the antlog of •66 which if 4571 and jump one step from the left side. You will get the antilog of 0•66 is 4•571.
  • Question
How do I find antilog or log of a very large number like 849152?
    Community Answer
You have to use calculator to find the log. In the case of antilog, the value here is simply 10^(849152).
  • Question
How do I find the antilog of a number to the power of a negative number?
    Mohammad Zaid Ansari
    Community Answer
Step 1: Convert the negative number into two parts in a way such that one part is a negative whole number called characteristic and the other part is a positive decimal part called Mantissa.  For the anti-log of -5.3351. Value nearer to 5 is 6 Thus,  -5.3351 + 6 - 6 = - 6 + 6 – 5.3351 = - 6 + 0.6649. Step 2: Evaluate the mathematical expression thus obtained. Step 3: Use this value to find out the anti-log from the anti-log table that is provided. Find the anti-log of 0.6649. Step 4: Multiply this anti-log value obtained in Step 3 by 10^ ( the value of the negative characteristic) (i.e., in this case) for considering the negative characteristic.
  • Question
How do I find the antilog of a decimal?
    Community Answer
The antilogarithm (also called an antilog) is the inverse of the logarithm transform. Since the logarithm (base 10) of 1000 equals 3, the antilogarithm of 3 is 1000. To compute the antilogarithm of a base 10 logarithm, take ten to that power.
  • Question
What is the antilog of 5.569?
    Community Answer
Antilog of .56 in the 9th column is 0.3707. Now we need to shift the decimal towards right by 5+1 places, because 1 is to be added. Hence, the answer should be 370700.
