No. A marriage is only legal if your country/state has registered it. If you want to be in a relationship, go through the ceremony and call yourself 'married', that's fine, but you're not technically married.

The number of bridesmaids does not depend on the size of the wedding, but rather on how much stuff you need to get done prior to and during the wedding.
