Apologize to the person you threatened, preferably in front of your parents. Tell your parents you understand that what you did was wrong and you'll never do it again. Don't try to make excuses for yourself. Don't immediately ask to be ungrounded, just apologize and then wait a couple of days. Then try approaching your parents and saying something like, "I really learned my lesson, and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to earn my privileges back."

You can stop hanging around someone if you don't want to be friends with them anymore.

    Community Answer
It's highly unlikely he'll unground you. I've been caught with whiskey before, and was grounded for nearly six months. But, you can apologize, show more maturity and responsibility, and ask for things back, little by little, after about a month or so. Start small, like asking if you can talk to friends on the phone for a few minutes a day. Work your way up to bigger things like using social media and actually going out with your friends.
