Does it really need to be a newly purchased card? I have an old card that has 60 stars on it, I can get 30 stars in a month. Why am I not being given any Starbucks Gold Card?

Call customer service. They should be able to cancel it. You will need to give them your email address and more so they can verify that you are a valid gold card holder. If you go directly into a Starbucks, they might not know what to do as their job is making the drinks but you could ask for the manager.
