How can I have adventure when I am way too busy with school? I get up at 5 and get back at 5. Not much I can do alongside homework, etc. Peter Pan has always been a favorite book of mine and its adventures make me so depressed because I know I'll never have them. Help?
    Community Answer
We're sorry to learn that you have so much to do so young. Many school students are in the same boat as you, with little time on week nights. It is suggested that you make plans on the weekend and set aside an afternoon or morning for your adventuring. Do something completely different that has nothing to do with school, that lets your imagination run wild. Your schoolwork will benefit for it.

  • Question
How do I have an adventure as a kid who is not brave or confident?
    Community Answer
Pick a small adventure - like talking to someone at school you don't know well - and work your way up to bigger adventures. When you see that the small adventures go well, you'll feel more confident about doing more daring activities. (Stay safe, though!)

Backyards are good places to have an adventure, if you have a good imagination. If you want an adventure that is not just imaginary, though, hiking a crazy rugged trail with some friends is a lot of fun. Wading through a creek upstream on a hot summer's day is also a great adventure, or maybe floating in tubes down a river. Kayaking is adventurous. Basically anything outdoors, away from civilization, and with your friends. If your parents are overprotective, show them how prepared and responsible you and your friends are. They will trust you more, and might not be as strict about watching you constantly.

  • Question
How do I go on an adventure as a teenager stuck at home during sheltering in place?
    Community Answer
I'm a teen, and while we've been stuck at home, I've taken up adventuring. The first step I took was taking my school backpack, dumping out all the school stuff, and making it an adventuring backpack. I filled it with rope, a first aid kit, a notebook, a baseball hat, a pocketknife. I even put in the stuff I would never use, but I felt like a real adventurer would carry. Today I started off with something simple. I took a 2-3 minute walk to a small field. I spent the next ten minutes poking around and exploring it. I suggest packing a backpack and heading to a neighborhood park, or a field, or just taking a walk. You're bound to find something that will fuel your next adventure and stick to the quarantine rules.
