    Kosher (kashrut) is for Judaism usually, however it is very similar to other dietary rules other religions follow. It is definitely okay to keep kosher if you're a Christian. One reason the rules were made in the ancient days to help aid in how to properly and humanely prepare meat to prevent illness. It's also an easy way to become vegetarian/vegan, which is generally a healthy lifestyle choice.

    In Judaism this is not allowed. Depending on what branch of Judaism you follow (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, etc.), there may be other rules too, such as about what dishes you can use, or how long you have to wait between eating meat to eat daiy or vice versa.
