  • Question
What if I've opened wine that has a screw top?
    Community Answer
Close the bottle tightly with the screw top that it came with and place it in a chiller or fridge for storage. Screw tops should have about the same effectiveness as a cork in terms of preserving flavor.
  • Question
I no longer have the lid for a bottle of red wine. How can I store it without the lid?
    Community Answer
Wrap the top in cling film making a tight seal. Wrap sellotape around that to make a harder seal. Drink the wine within 2 days or use it in a recipe.

  • Question
Is the Coravin system safe to use, mainly the argon gas used?
    Alex Longman

Coravin and Winesave are delivery systems of argon gas. Argon gas is inert and in the air we breath. in fact it makes up 1% of the air. Argon is a noble gas and does not mix or join with anything else making it the perfect barrier to stop oxidisation. Argon is 100% natural, tasteless, odourless, colourless. So in answer to your question Coravin and Winesave are the perfect systems to keep open wine for long periods
