Consider letting your hair air dry next time. That way, it will look fuller and you’ll be able to do styles such as a bun without it looking too thin. The heat from the blow dryer helps stretch and straighten your hair, making it less voluminous for you.

  • Question
Is it better to blow dry or air dry my hair?
    Community Answer
It depends on a lot of factors. Generally, air drying is better because it doesn't expose your hair to harsh heat. However, air drying takes longer and can cause hair to dry in a different style (like curly instead of wavy or vice versa), so you may need to blow dry your hair instead.
  • Question
Can I put ginger root on my head every day?

Every two days is fine. If you would like to apply it every day, it won't do any harm, but it's not necessary.
  • Question
Is baby oil good for your hair?
    Community Answer
When I'm in a pinch - or when my hair really, really needs some TLC - I use baby oil on dry ends to give them a boost. They become softer, glossier and healthier looking. Just make sure you don't apply baby oil directly to your hair, which can weigh it down and make it verge on greasy. Apply a tiny bit to a reusable makeup pad or some tissue, and allow it to absorb some. Pull your hair through the lightly soaked pad/tissue. Finally, let the baby oil soak into your hair a little bit, then style normally.
  • Question
Can l apply oil after a shower for my dry hair?
    Community Answer
I would recommend applying the oil first and letting it soak on your hair for a while before rinsing it out. If you put the oil in at the end of your shower, it could leave your hair looking greasy.
  • Question
Should I brush my hair after a shower?
    Community Answer
No. Generally, hair is prone to breakage and damage if you brush it after you shower. Instead, gently comb through your hair with your fingers to detangle it. Then, if you'd like, you can brush through it with a comb (not a regular brush).
  • Question
If I cut my damaged hair to less than an inch, how can I make it grow long and healthy in 6 months?
    Community Answer
Trimming helps to keep damage at bay. It doesn't encourage hair growth, but it helps you maintain healthy hair. The more healthy hair you can retain, the less you will have to trim, and the faster you'll get to your desired length.
  • Question
How many times do I oil my hair and how do I do it?
    Community Answer
If you want a heavy hair mask, you can mix together a banana or avocado for the base of moisture and an oil of choice (olive, almond, coconut, grapeseed, avocado, etc) for helping to seal in the moisture. If you choose to you can add essential oils (lavender, peppermint, tea tree, rosemary). You can apply the moisture base first and then the oils separately. Or you can combine them in one mask. Either way you will need to at least blend the moisture base for easy application. You can apply once a week.

Yes, it's actually better to apply oil on wet hair. Oil is a sealer. It's supposed to seal in water for longer moisture retention.
