QuestionCan I use corn for carp bait?Community AnswerBecause carp have a sweet tooth, you can use sweet corn as bait. The yellow color will also stand out. Note that sweet corn will also attract other types of fish like blue gill, trout, perch, bream, and catfish.

QuestionHow do I harden the mix when it's too soft?Community AnswerThat depends on the mix you are using. You may need to make another very small batch of base dry mix. Then, sprinkle it over and hand mix until it reaches the consistency you desire.

QuestionDo I store the dough balls in the refrigerator or freezer?Community AnswerI would recommend storing them in the freezer.

QuestionHow do I put the sweet corn onto the hook one kernel at a time?Community AnswerTypically, you would use a "hair rig" on your hook and a bait needle to attach it. Otherwise, a smaller size hook will accept a soft kernel of corn (not feeder corn).

QuestionWhat kinds of foods can I use to make carp bait?Community AnswerTry corn, white bread, strawberry jelly, peanut butter, marshmallows, bacon, hotdogs, chicken. You can use almost anything to make carp bait but I suggest you use something along those lines. My favorite bait recipe for carp is to take 3-4 slices of white bread, spread smooth peanut butter on each slice, then spread strawberry jelly over the peanut butter, then put 5 to 10 pieces of sweet corn on each slice then sprinkle a little white sugar over the slices and roll up the bread into a ball. Make sure the corn and other ingredients can stay inside. Make the bread stiff so it stays on your hook, then get some thick dough and put it around the bread ball, so it is a half a inch thick. Cut the bread ball bait into the size of your choice.

QuestionCan I catch carp with soft, cooked, dry, yellow corn?Community AnswerI would think so if you can get it on the hook. Canned corn is the best option in my opinion. If your going to use corn, that is.
